The Banned Catsuit 😻
While others referred to it as a “superhero” costume, WE saw it for what it was, a Nike bodysuit. Not only did the president of the French Tennis Federation try to ban it, they made the assumption that Serena Williams was trying to make a “mockery” out the game 🥎 .
Not only did she WIN that game. She now gets custom tennis outfit designs from Off-White and they also came up with a solution to the apparent catsuit “issue”: ‘And in its revised rules for 2019, the Women's Tennis Association announced that "leggings and mid-thigh-length compression shorts may be worn with or without a skirt, shorts, or dress" on the court.’
Fashion has no rules! Because her body is amazing, she does look more voluptuous in it! And she shouldn’t be faulted for that because she is talented and a woman who doesn’t back down.
This fashion moment made me proud. The French Open will never be the same.
